The past weekend ended the World Surf League (WSL) ABANCA Galicia Classic Surf Pro at Pantín beach. The brazilian Miguel Pupo won the QS/10,000.
Great conditions met with awesome surf at Pantin beach at the ABANCA Galicia Classic Surf Pro. Miguel Pupo won the final of the championship against Jake Marshall, who was the surprise of the competition. The final battle started with a big and clean wave for Miguel Pupo, who post an excellent 8,50 points, ending with a 16,87-14,45 marker. So, Pupo became champion of the men’s QS/10,000 climbing 20 positions and getting the third place at the general classification.
The third position was shared by brazilian Jadson Andre and australian Morgan Cibilic, who stayed in the semifinals. The “Cabreiroá Best Wave of the competition” trophy went to the brazilian Deivid Silva, with a 9,40 points waves. And Jadson Andre won the “Best cumulative test score” with 17,33 points.
Jake Marshall was the surprise at the final rounds of the ABANCA Galicia Classic Surf Pro 2019 beating Jadson Andre at the semis. On the other side, Pupo set the rhythm against Cibilic, ending in a win for the brazilian.
Miguel Pupo, winner of the QS/10,000 of the ABANCA Galicia Classic Surf Pro 2019, declared, after almost 4 without winning a competition: “Pantín is a very special place for me, a bit cold compared to Brazil. I am very happy to be here, they have received me very well and I have felt very comfortable”
